Are you thinking of submitting a request for an ARC LIEF
????
As the Central Science Laboratory (CSL) manages virtually all bids
for large equipment, you are encouraged to discuss your proposal
with Evan Peacock (Director,
CSL). You can also check out their web
site to see what preliminary proposals are under development.
You will also need to identify sources of funding to accompany
the bid as ARC LIEF bids require a financial contribution –
there is a 75% cap on the ARC level of support for the equipment
or facility bid.
What you need to do:
- Familiarise yourself with the Rules,
Instructions and application form
If you are requesting financial support:
- Complete the Registration for
ARC Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities (88KB
word doc). This document is the mechanism through which an applicant
would signal a request for funding from School, Faculty and/or
central sources.
This signed and completed document is required in the Office
of Research Services by 13 March 2008
A Working Party will provide you with peer review and ranking
advice on the proposed bids.
- Revise your application on the basis of feedback and advice
as well as your own assessment
- Review the latest checklists and tips (link to last page)
- Validate on GAMS
- Local submit on GAMS
- Send Sections B, D and E in Word format electronically to Sue
Birch (link to email address)
- Print a complete copy of the GAMS information (in Word) with
the additional sections interleaved
Arrange for the signatures of all Chief Investigators
on the ARC Certification Page
Download an ARC grant

grant submission form (99KB rtf) and attach it to your application.
The internal date for the full application will be negotiated following
advice from the Working Party.
If you require certification by the Pro Vice Chancellor
(Research) with no support for financial contribution,
please download an ARC
grant submission form (67KB word doc) or ARC
grant submission form (99KB rtf) and attach it to your application
when it goes to your Head of School/Institute for signing off before
sending to the Research Office by 2 May 2008.
