As part of the EDGE agenda UTAS needs to increase its share of
competitive and other grant funding. The benefit and value of peer
review has been strongly demonstrated. A University wide Peer Review
process for all ARC grants is now required (April 2008). You
can select an experienced person from other research environments
or from the UTas Peer Review College names. Peer review feedback
however, does not include comments from other applicants on the
proposal. This feedback is to be attached to the submission along
with the Research Office ARC Grants Submission Cover Sheet.
For most schemes, individual researchers will approach colleagues
to provide that feedback. In the case of some of the more specialised
schemes (LIEF, Federation Fellowship, Centres of Excellence), the
feedback will be managed through a Working Party established by
the Pro Vice Chancellor (Research).
While we will make every effort to ensure the application is complete,
the later you leave the submission, the greater the chance that
it might not get through in time. In addition to forwarding the
submission to ARC, there are a number of checks that we must undertake.
Therefore, applications not received by the Office of Research
Services internal deadline will not be progressed to the Pro Vice
Chancellor (Research) for signing nor will it be submitted via GAMS.
