Scholarship Variations

Any variations to your postgraduate candidature - including scholarship terms and conditions must be lodged in the first instance with the Graduate Research Office.

Scholarship Extensions

APAs and some other scholarships administered by the University of Tasmania for doctoral candidates include provision for extension. Extensions to scholarships are not granted automatically and decisions made in relation to extensions are subject to external audit. Extensions are not granted on the basis of personal decisions or reasons that do not relate to the research proposal or the sole need for additional time. In assessing a request for an extension of a scholarship the following factors are considered:

  • the nature of the issue causing the delay;
  • the extent to which the issue was outside of the control of the candidate;
  • the point of time at which this issue was identified and discussed with the supervisor; and
  • the action taken to address the issues at the time they were first identified.
