Introducing the Dean of Graduate Research |

Dr Kate Crowley
Dr Kate Crowley is currently the Acting
Dean of Graduate Research for the University of Tasmania.
She had previously acted as Dean of Graduate Research
in 2004 and 2006, and has been the Deputy Dean since
2004. Her substantive position is as Senior Lecturer
and Graduate Coordinator (Public Policy) in the School
of Government. She Chairs the University's Board of
Graduate Research, and the State Government's Environment
Industry Council. She is also a member of the University's
Research College Board, and the State Government's Tasmania
Together Progress Board.
She has published extensively on green politics and
environmental policy, and is co-editor of Australian
Environmental Policy: Studies in Decline and Devolution
(University of New South Wales Press) with Ken Walker.
She is a member of an international policy research
group which has been looking at the comparative politics
and policy of the Kyoto Protocol process.
Most recently, Dr Crowley has been appointed inaugural
Chair of the Tasmanian Climate Action Council, and written
a A Framework for Action for Reducing the Tasmanian
Government Emissions which has been adopted in full
by the Tasmanian Government.
Kate is also is a keen cross country skier who has
represented Australia in both racing and instructing
in past years and has lived and worked in Scandinavia. |
