Consultancies & Contract Research
ROCU is the University department responsible for management and
administration of consultancy and commercial activity.
A consultancy, by definition, is a fee for service project, often
short-term in duration, between industry or a Government agency,
that may involve specified research topic, with identified aims
and objectives, or the provision of skills and expertise.
Please complete the Consultancy
Clearance Form for any new commercial project. Before submission
to ROCU, please arrange for Head of School signature.
ROCU is the division mandated to administer the execution of all
University Consultancy Contracts and oversees the management of
all University consultancies together with the relevant School and
the Chief Investigator/ Researcher or Principal Consultant.
ROCU can assist in costing a project with industry. A tool for
costing and charging your research activity is currently being developed
and will be available soon.

Tenders
ROCU can assist in the completion of tender documentation, including
providing information as to quality assurance, costing and insurance.
ROCU will also arrange for University certification of the proposal,
by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research).
Upon notification of success, ROCU will act as the contracting
party, entering into contractual negotiations with the client on
your behalf, ensuring University guidelines are met. The contract
may be referred to the in-house Lawyer for review. ROCU will assume
responsibility for finance, and track the project to ensure obligations
are met on time.
Please notify ROCU of your intent to submit within a reasonable
timeframe before the deadline.
